Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night. (Rainer Maria Rilke)

It's January, But Feels Like Spring!

I just popped on to wish everyone a beautiful New Year!

Suddenly, I'm getting in the mood for some pretty spring cottage flowers in my favorite colors of purples, blues and pinks.

So I thought I'd post a few photos from my garden in spring past...just to help ooomph up my mood.  And I hope that you, too, will enjoy the splash of color coming up!

Around here, it's not hard to think that it's spring already - we've had very warm temperatures.  Although, we have had a sprinkling of cool hours during the morning and evening.

Just a sprinkling though...

Gosh, I love these colors!!!

I think this violet-blue hue is my ultimate favorite.

Yep, I think so!

Although it really is hard to choose.

More blue

Pretty, pretty!

Mmmmm, purple!

Now, I certainly do apologize that I'm posting mostly my container plants and not showing my garden beds.  That's usually how I grow these more delicate flowers that can't take the sun.

I can move them around a tad and they'll last a bit longer. However, these Pentas do very well in the sun, and I love their 'purpleness', so I've stuck them in here :)

Well, I do believe I've put myself right into a planting frenzy!

I plan on posting more regularly this year and maybe revamping the blog a bit.  I'm sorry I've neglected to post much these last few months - stuff happens, as I know you all know :)

I also want to thank you all for your lovely comments that you leave here.  I haven't been on top of my responses lately and I plan for that to change as well!

This photo is not from my garden, it was taken at a lovely rose park up north.  But it fits the mood and I hope you enjoy looking at all these lush roses!

Hi Lynn! Beautiful combinations, such cheery photos. I love all the pinks and purples, especially that pink Dianthus. You can take a tiny bit of time off every now and then, but you must always return, lol. I love all the Florida garden blogs, wish there were more (sigh). Take care _ Janice

Hi Janice! LOL! I had a nice little rest, but feels good to be back :). Thanks so much for your nice comments! I too, wish there were more Florida gardening blogs. You'd think in this warm climate there'd be dozens. Have a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful colors! Blue Daze and pansies are some of my favorites. I'm partial to the blues too. Enjoy your gorgeous blooms!

Hi Susan! That's so nice of you to say! I'm not as an experienced gardener as you or the other bloggers, but I love to have beautiful, colorful blooms all over! Thanks much!

Hi Daisy! Thank you for your very nice comment! There was a time when I didn't have any blue in my garden - now I'm crazy for it and look forward to trying something new in blue as often as I can! :)

Thanks for posting all the beautiful pictures. The weather's pretty gloomy here, and this was just what I needed. I love your photography!

Hi Leslie! Oh, you're very welcome! It's been grey and rainy today and I know how you feel. And thank you so much - I'm no pro photographer, but I enjoy taking photos. Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Hi Lynn! This was so lovely! I loved looking at your wonderful pink and blue combinations. I think they are the best combinations for spring. I noticed your lovely fuchsia too. I meant to get some this winter and completely forgot as they do really well for me winter/spring. Can't always find them around here. You have got me all spring-like now!! We almost had a touch of frost last night but hopefully we can get through the next few weeks without anything major - then we will all start complaining that its too warm! Lol!
Lovely as always to read your blog!

Hi Kate! Thank you for your very nice comment! I haven't had a lot of luck down here with the fuchsias, even if they're in shade the heat is too much for them. But every once in awhile I find one in the store and can't resist it! I remember my mother and grandmother having baskets flowing with them hanging from the patio and porch. We are in the 50's here today and that is COLD! lol I doubt it will last very long though. :)
