Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night. (Rainer Maria Rilke)

First Planting of 2017

Hello 2017!  Last night I scarified and soaked these big beautiful Nasturtium seeds so I could plant them up today, the first day of the year.

Last year was a jumbly sort of gardening year with the move and all, so I'm trying to start out right this year and garden with lots of LOVE.  And that means getting back to talking to my plants, meditating in the garden and sending out all the good vibes I can to help my plant friends and allies.  And that ends up helping me and all the garden visitors too.

Wishing you all peace and joy, kindness, love and healing in this New Year!

I still think planting seeds is like magic . . . I'm always amazed when they sprout. :-)

Looking forward to watching your magic unfold in the garden this year.

Happy New Year!

What a beautiful shot on the header!
I agree with Eli, seeds are nothing short of magical.

My gardening is on hold as we get settled here in NC, so I look forward to seeing what y'all are planting back in FL!
Happy New Year to all my FL gardening buddies!

Hello Lynn! I apologize for my absence for so long - sometimes a break is necessary but time just slipped by so quickly! I always enjoy your blog and your lovely outlook on life. I planted Nasturiums recently too and am waiting for them to flower - hope you are successful too!
